Patterned Tops

We fell in love with this cherry pie top when looking for bell sleeved tops, and knew we had to grab it!! A patterned top is a great option for Spring. It can brighten up your wardrobe when the weather does not seem to cooperate. Or at least that is how it is in St Louis where it seems like the calendar tells us it is Spring but the weather still says winter.

Styling tips:

A patterned top is great to style with a pair of jeans, pants, or shorts. We think it is best to keep things simple on the bottom half since you want your top to be the focus of your look.  So pair your top with a pair of skinny jeans.

When it comes to shoes, simple shoes are the answer as well. So pair your top and skinny jeans, with a simple heel, mule, or sneakers. The goal is to draw your eye up to the top which is the statement of your outfit.

Keep your accessories simple. Wear a delicate necklace, simple earrings, a rings because you do not want to detract from your top. As Coco Chanel said, Once your dressed, before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take at least one thing off. She is a style icon and those are great words to always live by.

Here are a few patterned tops we’ve been liking as well:

Let us know what you’re up to this weekend! It’s a quiet one for us, with not a lot of plans. But of course shopping and going out to eat may be on the agenda 😉

XOXO, Katie and Lydia
