Tips For Choosing Holiday Party Attire

How To Choose A Holiday Party Outfit

This time of year your social calendar may be filling up with all types of events, we know ours has! Whenever we are invited to a holiday party the first thing we think about is what should we wear? Wait, let’s be honest for a second. That is our question everyday no matter what we are doing haha! This is a longer post, so lets just get right to talking about what to wear for that holiday party of yours.

Things to consider

Below are a few things you can ask yourself to help choose your holiday style for each party you attend:

  • Should you go festive or classic– Tis the season to sparkle and shine! So bust out your sequin top or glitter sweater for that festive party look! If you are more of a classic girl choose a gorgeous red sweater or plaid blouse
  • What colors should you wear– Red and green are classic Christmas colors, but don’t over look blue or even an all white winter look!
  • Does the party have a theme (ugly sweater, ice skating, secret Santa)– Theme parties can be so much FUN, so have fun with this!
  • Who is hosting the party? Is the party you are attending hosted by work, church, or friends, this helps guide you on how you should dress. A pencil skirt with a festive top or sweater is always a great look for a more conservative event!
  • Is the party more sophisticated or fun? A black dress with a statement heel is a perfect choice for a more sophisticated party. Add a chic faux fur coat for warmth.
  • Where is the holiday party– Depending on where your party is being held may dictate how you dress for the party.. some restaurants have a dress code!
  • What is the attire on the invite? If you are not sure always air on a dressier look, like a pair of velvet pants or skirt

I love this look because it truly describes me. If I can get away with wearing my pajamas out in public I will haha! For the holiday’s though, I guess I should get dressed up a little more 😉 You can easily style any sweatshirt you own by adding a fun pair of pants.. in my case velvet pants! For an even more holiday look, find some booties like the ones I am wearing from Forever21.. under $30!!

This has got to be my favorite look yet! I love me some velvet and I love a good coat, combine those two and I’m instantly sold. Since we’re casual girls over here, adding a henley with this coat is the right amount of dressed up for me or should I say semi formal? And there’s the booties again.. major heart eyes!

Is this not the perfect holiday camisole or what? I love the scalloped detailing and it looks great paired with a leather jacket. This outfit would be great for anyone who’s style is more on the edgier side!

To be honest, this isn’t my favorite look! But hey, that is real life over here. I DO love each of these pieces on their own though. I just picked up this fur vest and it’s unbelievably soft!
